Our Company

The company heralds from humble beginnings. The original founder (Mohammed Sabat) has been involved in distributing Pitta Bread since 1977. Mr. Sabat saw a growing demand for this product in the food market and established Leicester Bakery in 1984.

The business has grown very rapidly and in 1988 the business moved into the Kent Street premises which we still operate from today. We now bake fresh pitta 5 days a week and employ 25 staff.

We use the finest ingredients and are continuously improving our production technology and process to maintain high standards of quality.

1984 - established Mohammed Sabat after successfully identifying gap to supply local wholesale kebab sector with good quality premium pittas

1988 - moved to new premises

1996 - awarded UK Caterers Award

1999 - awarded UK Caterers Award

2000 - major expansion to production facilities

2001 - naan Bread launch for the catering market

2005 - new Khoubz bread production line launched

2006 - new 100 pallets cold storage facilities in Leicester
